Съюз Сороптимист България се включва в кампанията за борба с насилието през тази година със съюзен проект  – „Погледни нагоре – пътят е пред теб”.Проектът ще стартира на 25.11.2017 с прожекция на филма”Face down”  на българският режисьор Камен Калев, създаден по действителен случай и третиращ наболял за страната проблем - трафик на жени. Събраните средства от благотворителната прожекция ще бъдат използвани за образователни програми на момичета от защитени жилища в страната. ...

The Organization


Soroptimist International (SI) is a worldwide organisation of professional women, building a better world for women and girls through AWARENESS, ADVOCACY and ACTION.

  • Soroptimist International is the world’s largest service organization of women in professions with about 90 000 members in over 3 000 Clubs, present in 125 countries
  • the first Soroptimist club was founded in 1921 in Oakland, California (USA)
  • the European Federation of SI was established in Paris in 1929 and now has over 35 000 members in 1 230 clubs in 58 countries.
  • the name Soroptimist is derived from the Latin words "soror" and "optimum", interpreted as „the best for women”
  • Soroptimist International is composed of four Federations, each comprising a number of Unions or Regions that are made up of Clubs
  • Soroptimists are committed to international friendship initiatives, decision-making at all levels of society, and service and networking in local, national and international communities.
  • Soroptimist International works to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and at national and international levels.
  • Through international goodwill, understanding, and friendship, Soroptimists worldwide stand for the advancement of the status of women, high ethical standards, human rights for all, equality, empowerment, and peace.
  • Soroptimist International is concerned with international and national issues that relate to its objectives and programmes.


As a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with general consultative status at the United Nations (UN), Soroptimist representatives have direct access to, and a voice at, the UN centres in New York, Geneva, Vienna, Rome, Nairobi and Paris.
